Keep an eye out for these events in 2023
It's surprising how quickly the year moves along - already in February and only a few days from St. Valentine's Day. We've not run a campaign for St. Valentine's Day this year as the feedback we get from our retail and trade friends is that people are not romantic enough to buy English Sparkling Rosé or any other types of fizz for the occasion. I find that difficult to believe and maybe you'll let me know how wrong they are: all feedback on that appreciated.
We've listed below a number of events we are appearing at this year: Highclere Show is for a second year but all the rest are new for 2023.
Thank You!!
Thank you so much to those of you who have already sent in reviews of the Tours & Tastings. Really very kind and much appreciated. I particularly liked the one that started: “Mark may have been a corporate lawyer but leave your prejudices at the door…”: cheers Graeme, I think...!
If you haven’t yet left a review, please do if you have time: I know it’s an intrusion on your time but it definitely helps.
Damson Suppers
We know how much you loved Henry & Joe’s and how you are looking forward to Henry opening his next restaurant, Damson. While the impressive work on that moves ahead, we’re helping Henry out by allowing him to use our Tasting Barn for Damson Supper Club events in February. Pretty sure they are all sold out but check in with him in case there is a last minute cancellation
We are also holding a couple of All Angels & Damson dinners on 24th & 25th March here at Church Farm, so get in touch on info@allangels.com if you’d like to come along as spaces will be limited to 20 (as always) and we have some bookings already - word has leaked out on the grapevine. Tickets are £90.00pp to include a welcome glass of All Angels. There will be a paired wine flight option for each of the four courses at £55.00pp, to be ordered in advance, or other wines and soft drinks chosen by All Angels will be available by the glass or the bottle on the night.
Other Events
We’ve also been planning the events we’re going to this year and here they are:
Highclere Country Show: 28th & 29th May at Highclere Castle (funnily enough!)
CarFest: 25th to 27th August at Laverstoke Park Farm, Overton, Hampshire (if you’ve not been, you really should) – we’ll be in the Britain’s Best section (naturally) www.carfest.org
Oxford Wine Festival: 8th & 9th September at The Oxford Union Society, Oxford Union, Frewin Ct, Oxford OX1 3JB https://www.oxfordwinefestival.org/
Newbury Show: 16th & 17th September at The Newbury Showground (back for the first time in three years) https://newburyshowground.co.uk/newbury-show-2023/
Please do come along and say Hi: it’s always fun to see good friends as well as make new friends at these events.
Tours & Tastings
https://www.allangels.com/tour-tasting
We’ve been planning more of these and changing the days so we now have some Friday evenings as well as Saturdays. What better way to wind down after a week of work and before you head into the weekend than with a leisurely tour round the vineyards and settling down to taste our current range of English Sparkling Wines.
We are also taking quite a few bookings for private tours where we can be more flexible on dates for a minimum party size of 12 and make them as bespoke as you want with some delicious catering options too.
And don’t forget that if you are looking for a corporate or team event, we have an ideal venue for up to 25 people in our Tasting Room: take advantage of our boardroom table for the work element, our lounge and bar area for networking and then have a break out session in the vineyards. Certainly beats most of the venues I got taken to in my previous career, though you probably won’t experience an England football player walking into a seminar (in my case on project finance) and taking 10 mins to realise he was in the wrong place…
Vineyard update
There has been a lot of activity in the vineyard and on the wine front to tell you about too but my guess is you’d prefer if I left that for another time.
As always, please do let me have your feedback on what we are doing and what you would like to see.
Please also drop us a line on info@allangels.com if you would like to be added to the list of kind volunteers willing to spend some time in the vineyards, rounded off with BBQ and drinks (disclaimer required to be signed if I’m doing the BBQ!). Many thanks to those already on the list.
My best as always,
Mark
